
Behavioral Health Specialist
We're seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Behavioral Health Services to lead and oversee clinical and behavioral support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered behavioral health services, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and clinical oversight across programs.
About the Position
Candidates must hold an active, unrestricted Missouri license in good standing, including one of the following:

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) under approved supervision

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
-
Licensed Psychologist
-
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

All licenses must be issued by the State of Missouri and in good standing at the time of hire.
Candidate must possess a Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Experience Requirements must include;

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Experience conducting behavioral assessments and functional behavioral analyses (FBA).

Experience developing and implementing behavior support plans (BSPs).

Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.

Experience in treatment planning and clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities include;

Behavioral Health Specialist will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) for individuals served

Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
-
Provide clinical oversight and supervision of behavioral health and direct care staff
-
Train and support staff in behavioral interventions, crisis response, and best practices
-
Ensure compliance with Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) regulations and all applicable State of Missouri requirements.

Oversee documentation standards, clinical quality assurance, and service delivery integrity.

Ensure ethical, person-centered, and trauma-informed care practices are upheld.
