Living With Purpose STL is seeking compassionate and dedicated Host Homes to open their homes to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Host Home offer a safe, stable, and supportive family-style living environment that promotes independence, dignity, and community inclusion. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized care and support in a home setting while helping individuals develop daily living skills and long-term independence.

About the Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home environment for an individual served

  • Support daily living activities such as meals, hygiene, transportation, and household routines

  • Encourage independence, skill development, and community participation

  • Assist with implementing individualized service plans and behavioral support strategies

  • Support medication management as directed by care plans (if applicable)

  • Maintain open communication with Living With Purpose STL staff and service coordinators

  • Participate in required trainings and ongoing support meetings

  • Ensure a respectful, dignified, and person-centered living environment

  • Document and report any significant changes in health, behavior, or needs

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Ability to provide a stable, clean, and safe home environment

  • Strong interpersonal and caregiving skills

  • Willingness to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

  • Ability to complete required training and comply with agency/state guidelines

  • Reliable transportation and ability to support community access

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in caregiving, direct support, or residential services

  • Familiarity with developmental disabilities or behavioral support

  • Prior experience as a foster parent, caregiver, or home provider

  • Background Screening Requirements

  • All Host Home Providers must successfully complete:

  • Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) screening

  • Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Background Check

  • Home safety inspection and approval

  • Any additional screenings required by state regulations or agency policy
