OPIOID
INITIATIVE
Recently, the Department of Mental Health invited LWP to participate in its opioid initiative along with four other grassroots organizations. All of the participating organizations serve majority Black communities in North St. Louis City. The opioid initiative addresses racial inequities in opioid overdose deaths in Black communities.
Our community work has allowed us to develop partnerships with the Crush Coalition, the Baden Community Coalition, Prevent Ed, Queen of Peace, the City of St. Louis Drug Courts, our state Representatives, Baden Business District, Missouri Foundation of Health, Missouri Institute for Mental Health at UMSL, and Flourish St. Louis.
